Rebellion Pitts Kick Off Show Review!!!!!!!!

Hey i know this show review is late but i wanted to have it perfect. (THIS IS MOST LIKELY THE LAST SHOW REVIEW I WILL EVER BE DOING FOR THE REASON THAT I JUST NEVER SEEM TO GET THEM OUT ON TIME.)

Nico Hough: Was the opening act. He is an amazing Riot Folk artist. He played a great show and I really hope he records an album soon. Riot folk is folk with a punk rock attitude. He is hard to describe. Unfortunately he does not have a website, music profile, or any of that. If you come across his name in any flyer you better see him perform.

SATCH: Came on 2nd and they are crazy and really amusing guys, Also very fun to see live. They sound like a mix of 80’s hardcore punk bands. They played a Germs cover which by that point I stole the mike. Richie’s Dagger has to be one of the most fun Germs songs to sing. Their album / 10 track album reminds me a lot like Litmus Green. If you don’t know who Litmus Green is I you better re-watch Decline part 3 again. They also sound like they are taking a step backwards into the sound of old school hardcore punk. It’s Fucking Brilliants. The track titles to this CD. are Quite interesting I recommend you get a copy and go check them out. http://www.myspace.com/sexmehorse

Mongrel: was headlining. Mongrel is a band that will never die, once you put a bullet in it. The band comes back stronger than ever. At the August 10th show they announced that Jess (From Affliction) as their new full time singer. I honestly think that Jess will bring a new feel and vibe and take Mongrel into new amazing heights. Jess told me when she sings all her lyrics for Affliction she relives the song over when she is on stage. When you see Affliction live you can tell she is in this mind zone that keeps her and the fans connected by invisible emotional strings. I always can feel the emotion to whatever song she sings with affliction. So I can only imagine what she can bring as time goes on. Someone asked me at the show “What does mongrel sound like?” I replied “Mongrel sounds like metal and punk fucked each other and had the best sex they could possibly have” I wanted to say more but I was distracted. So if you haven’t heard of Mongrel I Recommend you Buy: Fears Lies and Propaganda and Their new Ep. REVENGE. AND I GIVE MY BEST WISHES TO JESS.

Punk Rock Saved My Ass: is a great book that has stories by people from all over the country to the world. They tell stories about how punk rock changed their lives. How the music and the lifestyle was a survival method for a lot of people. It has rants, essays, poetry, stories and lyrics by many of people. If you buy this book I could also save a legendary venue from closing down. for every book sold $1.00 goes directly to Gilman Street. This venue has been home base to bands such as (Rancid, Green Day and Operation Ivy). I would personally like to thank Jane Mackay for all the support that she and Medusas Muse have given me. With this site.Find the book Here: http://www.medusasmuse.com/

The Swaggerin' Growlers: are an Irish folk punk band that plays with their heart and soul. Their Album “Keep Your Head Held High” is an amazing creation mixing traditional Irish music with punk. It is a great album to drink and party to. It’s well put together and great to sing to. Check them out at: http://www.theswaggeringrowlers.com/

Affliction: Their self titled album is one of the most creative sounds I have listened to. Jess caries out so much heart and soul with her voice. Her jazzy vocals go perfectly with the metal sounds of the instruments. I have seen Affliction live numerous times and they always seem to impress me. They sound as if Pantara made a jazz record with a female vocalist You can find them at: www.myspace.com/affliction2006

The Old Edison and Liz Baillie + More

The Old Edison: Is a raw folk band from south Boston. When listening to this album “Theres Always a Place in Dorchester” I felt the words and music flow right through me. They have a lot of powerful songs; you can hear how much heart and soul they put into their music and lyrics. While listening to it you can feel the many emotions running through you. Their album is a great work of art to spend your down time listening to. It’s one of those albums that you turn on when you get out of work after a rough day, maybe you’re at the bar and in need for something strong , or perhaps you’re around the camp fire and your reminiscing about your past lovers, friends, and good memories. When you see this talented band live you can feel the energy, the emotions, and you’re just letting them go as you sing along with everyone else. Check them out at the Middle East next Monday for a free show.

Or Listen To Them Here: http://www.myspace.com/theoldedison

Suggestions:
Irish names
Pack a day
Honorable discharge
And start west

Liz Baillie: Is one of my favorite comic book artists. She is talented, imaginative, and creative. She has grabbed my attention and a lot of others

“My Brain Hurts”: Is named after the screeching weasel Album. This two book series is about some gay New York punks that are staying true to themselves. They party, go to shows, drink, create mischief and mayhem, and get into trouble. It’s an amazing story that has a heart felt satisfaction. It's a story for the queers, I'ts a story for the punks, It's a story for the outcast, and its a story that every one should cherish.  Don't get me wrong this book is not just about being gay. I believe it has a deeper meaning to it. i think it says " Life has it's ups and downs but you got to make you own path to the point ware you're happy

“Freewheel”: Is a traveling punk rockers bedtime fantasy adventure story. It is very hard to explain, there is Adventure mystery and it is a page turner and I’m itching for the second part. “Freewheel” is named after a Team Dresch song off of the “Personal Best” Album. It’s a great song by a great band I recommend you check it out. OK so "Freewheel" starts off with this sister waking up in a room with her brother missing. She runs away, meets some hobos, and encounters meny challenges and test. The world that Liz Creates is like Peter Pan and the Lost Boys hang out meets a folklore version of "Alice in Wonderland". I can't wait to see the rest  of the journey.

Central Mass Roller Derby / Review

CMRD: Is one of the hardest working roller derby league I have ever been a part of.  I am fortunate enough to have practice and get to know most of the players on this league. They work and sweat their wheels off to get this far. CMRD is divided by 4 teams: The Panty Linebackers, Petticoat Punishers, Switchblade Sallies, and Mass Maelstrom (Men’s Team). On Sunday June 20th @ Roll-on America. Mass Maelstrom will go up against The New York Shock Exchange. This will be a must see game so get your tickets in Advance ASAP. Fallowing that match, Two other teams from Central Mass Roller Derby will play The Panty Linebackers Vs. The Switchblade Sallies. I also believe that they have a band playing at Halftime.

Note From CMRD:  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the game starting whistle is at 6 p.m. $12 adults/$8 ages 6-12. $10 advance sales at centralmassrollerderby.com. Standing room only, but feel free to bring one folding chair per person. Roll-On America is located at 90 Duval Rd., Lancaster. For more information, visit centralmassrollerderby.com.

Reviews:
Nothing Screams Summer Like Reggae and Punk So i Got Two Bands For You To Check Out: Both From The South I Bring You The Bastard Sun and BMP(Bulletproof Marshmallows)

The Bastard Suns: A worth while band to see live they played a high energetic show when I saw them play in Georgia. They are a Reggae Punk band that I highly recommend you look up if you like those genres. Not to mention the epic guitar solo in “This Ones Gonna Hurt” that they play twice is insanity. But there mixed sound is well put together and it works. They also have a great song to drink to called "My Pint" Their album that they shared with No Fuego brings me back to the concert and reminds me of the insanity. Check them out at: http://www.myspace.com/thebastardsuns or http://www.thebastardsuns.com.com/

BPM: Glendale and A Voice of Reason are two Albums that I picked up when I was in Georgia for thanksgiving a year ago. BPM is a Reggae Ska band that knows how to throw a grove. I saw them live with the Bastard Suns and So It Goes at The Masquerade in Atlanta Georgia. These two Albums are Cds you would roll you windows down on a hot summer day and blare it out of the car speakers. Or the old school boom box on the shoulder in the city type of music. Just check them out at: http://www.myspace.com/bpmband

F Bombers, Album Review.+ Sponsors and Link Reviews.

The F-Bombers have grabbed my attention. They’re a punk rock from New Jersey. The first time I saw them I knew this was a band that people have to know and need to hear. They played on the Saint Pats show at the Middle East with a lot of other bands that I can guarantee are going to get amazing reviews. Anyways, Kim Pulsive’s vocal skills have the raw power and growl to make the amazing lyrics come to life. Kim Pulsive (who also plays guitar) Clay (Bass), and Kevin (drums) have given their instruments great strength so when you listen any song on the Pledge Allegiance album you can literally feel the emotion of the song. When listening to this album it gives the listener a feeling of unity, understanding, and the will power to say “Fuck You!” to pointless bullshit that you don’t want to deal with. They are a great bunch of people and I’m grateful to have had the chance to party with them after the show. Theirs going to be a bottle of whiskey waiting in Mass. the next time they come to town.
